We are delighted to announce that the National Lottery Community Fund has awarded Safe New Futures a grant to continue running our youth programme.
Our Teens program is vital to the local community, as recently reported by the Daily Echo, more than 1,700 children and young people were referred to menial health services in Southampton last year alone which is a 12% increase on the previous year (2018-19). Our coaching and mentoring support is delivered in a non-judgemental open environment by high-calibre trainers. Using a mix of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and practical vocational training we are currently delivering our courses through web seminars and online video-conferencing tools.
Safe New Futures has a legacy of multiple year funding streams for our two major programmes until 2022, a backlog of individual (previously successful) project funding applications all set up to go and a complete change in our delivery that has been tried, tested and come through successfully, leaving us poised to go national.
From a fundraising point of view, this means we are now open to national funders and not just local community ones.
