Dean’s journey with Safe New Futures started off as a participant in our programmes. After completing the programme, he moved into employment, then went on to work as an Employment Advisor with Seetec Pluss before joining the SNF team. As Team Leader, Dean keeps the day-to-day running of the organisation steady — overseeing participant journeys from referral through to outcomes. He supports and supervises the office team, and makes sure systems, data and processes are working as they should. He represents SNF at job fairs and community events and maintains relationships with referral partners. Brings a warmth and enthusiasm to everything he does that sets the tone for the whole team. His own experience of the programme gives him an understanding of what participants are going through that shapes how he leads.

Michael Johnston
Facilitator & Safeguarding Officer
Michael joined Safe New Futures as a participant. He stayed to help others make the same journey. Now working four days a week as Facilitator and Safeguarding Officer, he leads most of our pre-course chats, delivers both the five-week programme and twelve-week Pathways workshops. He provides one-to-one coaching throughout. He has also taken the lead on developing our Pathways materials. As Safeguarding Officer, he helps make sure everyone at SNF – staff, volunteers and participants – feels safe and well supported. His lived experience of the programme gives him credibility with participants that no qualification alone can provide.

Beth Cooke
Youth Facilitator
Beth has worked in the youth charity sector for 10+ years. She is deeply passionate about supporting others, especially regarding wellbeing, employability, and career advice. Naturally warm and bubbly, she loves mentoring and motivating others, helping them to feel confident in all they have to offer. When not working, she is looking after her two young daughters and going on adventures together.

Ann-Marie also oversees our strategy for raising money from Corporations, Grant Making Trusts, and researches new sources of funding.

Patch
The Office Dog
Our lovely little Patch kept us company and lifted our morale up whenever we went through rough times. She made sure that people took their breaks by taking her for a walk, loved a stroke during meetings and hoovered up all the scraps after events. Her memory lives on.
